Direct Advertisers

If you are just getting started with your website, this could a little more difficult because you have not established a steady flow of site traffic. But it is not impossible. There are some ways in which you can improve your chances of attracting advertisers:

  • Be sure that you use some form of web analytics for your website to track your number of visitors, page views, bounce rates, length on site, etc. A great and FREE tool for this is Google Analytics (Read my article about this awesome analysis tool to help you get started). You want to be able to provide site statistics to advertisers that may consider advertising on your site.
  • Make sure that your content is engaging and relevant. Advertisers want to know that if they decide to spend their money by placing ads on your website or blog that there is going to be compelling content that will draw visitors.
  • How are you marketing or promoting your website? Do you have a newsletter? Are you using pay per click advertising? Are you using Google Adwords? Prospective advertisers may want to know how you are getting the word out about your new site. How will people find out about you? Have a plan in place before you approach potential advertisers.
  • Be reasonable with your ad rates. When you have not established high traffic numbers, you will probably need to price your ad space at a lower rate than a more established site. You can always change your rates as your numbers grow.
