Monetize

To monetize your site basically means setting up your site so that it can generate money for you. There was a time when a website was a group of static pages with no dynamic content or bells and whistles. That has all changed. Millions of people throughout the world are now accessing the Internet and advertisers now realize that the entire online community is their audience and potential client base. They realized that they now have to create innovative and creative ways to capitalize on this new opportunity and they have done just that.

Whether a company is paying Google and a website owner a commission whenever their ad is clicked and a sale is made or whether they are paying to have their ad placed on a popular website, the avertiser is trying to increase the bottom line.

Some of the monetizing methods are:

  • Google Adsense (or programs similar in nature)
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Pay Per Click
  • Banner Advertising

One of the earliest affiliate marketers is Amazon Associates. Learn about how you can earn commission referring products to your website or blog visitors:

Although they may work differently, they all have one thing in common. An advertiser is paying to sell their product or service online. However in this new era of web and marketing 2.0, they are paying a lot less to reach a much larger audience than the traditional forms of advertising.

When you initially establish your website or blog and choose to monetize, you basically are approaching the marketer and asking if you have permission to place their ads on your site. However, as the popularity grows and the traffic increases on your website or blog, the advertisers then may start approaching you. You may then want to consider selling ad space on your website or blog.

The key to earning revenue from monetizing your site is website traffic. If you have little traffic, then your best efforts at creating this type of website won't generate much income. But if you you have hundreds or thousands of people visiting your website consistently, it will have been time well spent. Many people are earning a living managing their blogs and websites.

I will keep you up to date on the ways in which website owners are taking advantage of this income opportunity. Reaping the benefits of monetization does not happen overnight but once you have laid a good foundation and are persistent in your marketing efforts, the benefits can be promising.

One blogger who has done this very successfully is a man named Yaro Starak. He can show you the exact system that he used to make between $10,000 - $35,000 per month blogging about topics that you are passionate about. This is NOT a get-rich-quick-scheme but a method to build a stable and reliable income by working a few hours a day. CLICK HERE to learn about his story and learn how you can become a Pro blogger.
